Coach
I grew up in a small town in Shoals, IN. I’ve known my husband since I was probably 6-7 years old! We grew up within a couple of miles of each other and had our children at a very young age, and I knew early on that I needed to do something for myself. My workout journey started with running, many years of workout videos, and then joining CrossFit in 2016. I can proudly say that for over 15 years now I have focused on prioritizing my health. It’s not always easy but it’s so worth it!
I was a member of CrossFit for many years until I became a coach. I never thought I would be a coach, because I was never an athlete that could lift super heavy, and complete WODs fast, and It took me forever to understand gymnastics movements. I didn’t feel like I was qualified if I couldn’t do everything that’s in the CrossFit world, but I was so wrong! Being an athlete who really has to work on movements, rig work, mobility, etc. is what I believe really makes a great coach! I’ve had to learn and feel the movements, I’ve had to stay patient with the rig work, and most importantly..I just had to keep trying!
Life is hard. Many times people will be knocked down and have to fight their way out. I’ve had times in my life where I felt like I couldn’t go on. It’s in those times though that the real magic happens! You will start to realize just how strong (mentally, physically and emotionally) you are! Pray, pray, pray and keep praying! He will see you through!
I’ve been a coach for a couple years now and I can honestly say that I love it just as much now as the first day I coached! I feel that coaching is what I’ve been called to do! I love leading the class, making them laugh and seeing all their gains! It truly is such an amazing feeling when you see someone PR or get a “first.” Being a coach has made me a better athlete as well!
